I love food!  I enjoy going through recipe books and trying all kinds of new thing! I find that food can teach you so much about different cultured.

Bread plays a big roll in the Spanish diet. When inviting my Spanish friends over for a meal, I always need to have some bread on the table. I have found a recipe that is amazingly easy to make and tastes delicious!! https://www.itsalwaysautumn.com/homemade-artisan-bread-easiest-bread-recipe-ever.html

I used woestersous, thyme and some beef stock and it was a perfect meal for a cold and windy day!

A few month ago I had some friends over and was looking for something to make that is of course tasty and easy to prepare. When I host, I like to have some dishes that can be prepared the day  before. It just makes the day of the party not so stressful when trying to be in time before everyone arrives.

Vetkoek is a typical South African recipe. The traditional way is to eat it with a curry mince but you can have it with chicken mayo or even jam. Normally you would make them palm size but I decided to make mini versions and it was a hit!

Some days you just need chicken! I found a sous that is delicious and good for you to. I love to, if possible substituting sugar for honey in any thing I make. I just feel honey has so many health properties. https://pin.it/ovc2minbqp4im6

Cold day

On cold days like these by the beach, I like to make something a bit more heavy and warm! I found some beans and chorizo and paired it up with naan bread. DELICIOUS!!

Today has been a busy day, so I was looking around for something to make that is fast en easy! I had some meatballs in the fridge that I made for my husband while I went to Paris to meet my cousin for a fun weekend. I toasted two tortillas in a pan, filled them with spinach feta, tomato and cheese! Made some Tzaziki and hubby was very happy!

My weekend away in Paris was great! And so was the Cuisine!! From the onion soup in an up market restaurant to the Quiche at the airport, the french just know how it is done!

What is the best way to win the heart of a greek man, cook better than his mom!!!

I have been married for a while and I always enjoy watching my husband enjoying his meal. I am a very competitive person.  So married to a greek man you always hear about how great is his mothers cooking. So I set out to try to beat her.

I can proudly say I have successfully created 6 out of 6 dishes and counting!

My triumphs are, Fakes, Tzaziki, Meatballs, Spanacopita,  good old fashion Chicken soup and Pilaflaki.

Pilaflaki is a greek dish with noodles, that look like rice and chicken with a tomato base sauce. image.

Everybody loves a burger, but what has made mine even more tasty and enjoyable is a new sauce I found! We have made friends with our new Danish neighbors and introduced me to REMOULADE! I know it goes best with fish but I have been putting it on everything!!! I am a big mayonnaise fan so I just fell in love with this sauce.image

In Spain the rain season can be quite challenging for someone like me. I am not accustomed having weeks on end of wet and rainy days. What I do love though is the coziness that goes with it and of course the nice things you can cook to keep warm! I enjoy eating ox tail and having a good glass of red wine and Spain has them both!!

imageMy husband bought me a pressure cooker, and oh my goodness life has changed! I always wanted one but at the same time I have always been very scared of them. Maybe it’s age, but I decided to stop being afraid of a pot and see what it is all about.

It is amazing!!! Everything I have cooked so far has been super fast, and tasty AND I have managed not to blow up the kitchen, YET!!

The oxtail took me 45 minutes to prepare, and the ribs 40 minutes. Chicken and rice was only a 15 minute wait!! I don’t think I have ever in my life wished for winter to arrive, so my pot and I can discover the new world awaiting us!

I have found an easy and super tasty Greek chicken recipe! https://www.chefspencil.com/recipe/the-best-chicken-pie-in-greece/
